USW Local 1998 is an accessible and inclusive community and we offer a number of ways to get involved. Come out to a monthly union meeting to find out what’s going on, join a committee and help plan educational and fun events for our members, take a course or attend a conference or join us at a really or other community event. Union activities aren’t just about work! We host fun social events throughout the year as well, like BBQs; Pop-Ups where we give away merch; Ice cream truck meet-ups; holiday parties and more!
New Members
If you are a new U of T staff-appointed member, you can attend one of our monthly New Member Orientations. Sessions provide you with information on your union, your contract, ways to get involved, perks, and more.
Monthly membership meetings (called General Membership Meetings or GMMs) are held over the lunch hour or at 5:00pm and are video-conferenced to all three campuses. They are open to members of any Unit.
